Malgrat de Mar: Dutch tourist stabs girlfriend to death
More articles on this topic: VisitBlanes.com — A 26-year-old Dutch man was arrested Sunday in Malgrat de Mar on suspicion of fatally stabbing his girlfriend (20) during a lover’s spat.
Witnesses told local police the woman ran from a small camper that had stopped along the boulevard at Malgrat de Mar. Her friend, identified as Ratko H., a Dutch national, ran after her and stabbed her in full view of tourists and locals walking along the boulevard.
The man than stabbed himself.
The woman died shortly after police and emergency services arrived. The man has been arrested by los Mossos D’Esquadra, Catalonia’s autonomous police. He is hospitalized in serious condition.
Some Spanish media report that ‘other family members’ who were traveling in the camper as well, witnessed the incident.
Police declined to provide further details pending an investigation.
