Earlier this year British newspaper The Independent quoted Antonio Moreno, president of Cacma, an animal rights association in the bullfighting heartland of Andalusia, as saying, "An overwhelming majority of Spaniards, 76 per cent according to Gallup surveys in 2009, are not in favor of bullfighting. Catalonia property owners may be forced to rent to low-income tenants
Many Catalonians cannot find affordable housing. Building on the 2007 Law on Housing Rights Catalonia's government is now looking at measures to insure that those with a poor credit history, unemployment problems, and/or low income will be able to find a suitable place to live.
Its proposals include possible enforcement of a measure already passed: forcing landlords to rent out property that has been sitting empty for too long. Continue reading
