Catalonia property owners may be forced to rent to low-income tenants
Many Catalonians cannot find affordable housing. Building on the 2007 Law on Housing Rights Catalonia's government is now looking at measures to insure that those with a poor credit history, unemployment problems, and/or low income will be able to find a suitable place to live.
Its proposals include possible enforcement of a measure already passed: forcing landlords to rent out property that has been sitting empty for too long. Continue reading

Green light for Blanes’ urban planning committee
The Planning Commission in Girona, Catalonia, has given the green light to proposals by the local urban planning committees (plans d'ordenació urbanística municipal, POUM) of the Costa Brava towns of Roses and Blanes.
