Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia, is one of Europe’s most popular tourist destinations.

With a population of 1.6 million citizens, this huge city features many districts — each with their own distinctive characteristics.

Barcelona has countless attractions — from the Antoni Gaudi’s life’s work the Sagrada Familia, a modernist church that isn’t quite finished yet to the Parc Guell designed by Gaudi, and from the hill of Montjuïc, which hosted the 1992 Olympics to Europe’s largest aquarium at Port Vell.

No wonder both first-time and repeat visitors often feel overwhelmed when it comes to choosing what to see and do.

This is where an experienced tour guide can provide you with a fantastic tour, customized to your desires and interests.

In Catalonia, tour guides are licensed by a special board. When you are looking to hire an official tour guide, check whether your Guia de Turisme de Catalunya can show you his or her license.

Recommended Tour Guide

You’ll have many tour guides to choose from, but our personal favorite is Christine Duyf. Christine lives in Blanes, but most of her tours take place in Barcelona, a city with which she is as familiar as with her own home.

However, she is also available for tours to other cities and sites throughout Catalonia. Think, for instance, of the Dali Museum in Figueres.

As Christine is on the road a lot, the best way to reach her is by telephone: 0034 972 352 019 (regular) or 0034 626 308 928 (mobile).
