The seaside resort of Blanes is known as the Gateway to the Costa Brava — Catalonia’s wild coast.
South of here — and in Blanes itself — you’ll find mostly smooth, sandy beaches. But travel North, beyond the harbor, and you’ll encounter the miles of jagged cliffs and rocks that gave the Costa Brava its name. Those cliffs and rocks are interspersed with coves and beaches, creating a wonderful coastline that has drawn millions of tourists since the mid-Seventies.
